Massage has been a part of my life since my childhood. I would often feel the tension in others and be naturally drawn to them to help ease their stress. Since about the age of ten, I have been working with individuals to help alleviate neck, shoulder, and back pain. Now as an adult I have had time to hone my skills and study multiple modalities. After doing thousands of massages, I am still exploring new techniques and continue to learn more about our amazing bodies. Of the various forms of body and energy work I have studied, I specialize more with muscular manipulation techniques to help in relieving pain and tension due to overuse and poor posture using various massage and stretching techniques. My preferred style of work is to start with relaxing the body, reducing stress and balancing the body's various energy systems. This is done throughout the process at some level while I focusing attention to areas of need. Most of my massages are full body, with the intention of bringing balance, though some massages will spend up to 75% of the time only in the areas of specific need. I believe that the more relaxed and stress-free the body is the better the results of even the deepest tissue work will be. Over the years I have developed a style I refer to as "muscle tracing" in which I literally palpate "feel or trace over" all the muscle tissue throughout the body. Then using techniques appropriate for your preferred style of massage, (more pressure "deep tissue" or lighter pressure) help that tissue to return to a healthier state. Regardless of the style of work, whether a relaxing Swedish or a chronic pain reducing trigger point session the most frequent compliment I get is the ability to know, or intuition with knowing where to work on the body.
